Roads and Airports reports progress on signal-operations audit; 15 of 21 county recommendations complete

Harry Freitas, director of Santa Clara County Roads and Airports, and Deputy Director Anath Prasad presented an August update to the Finance and Government Operations Committee on Aug. 19 on the management audit of the Roads and Signal Operations division.
Prasad summarized the audit timeline and results: the management audit began in September 2022 and concluded in September 2024 with 27 total recommendations; 21 recommendations were directed to Roads and Airports. As of the committee update, staff reported 15 of the 21 county-directed recommendations complete and six in progress with a projected finish by year-end.
Supervisors thanked staff and signaled interest in site visits (traffic operations center) to better understand operations. The committee voted to receive the report.
