Visiting vice mayor asks Doral to back sensory room at Sunrise Community Center

Julien said the project would add a sensory garden and sensory room to an existing Doral Sunrise site and asked the council for assistance applying for community‑based organization grants. She and Keaton Rein, representing Leadership Miami through the Miami Chamber, said they hope to complete work ahead of a Nov. 22 ribbon cutting and requested both volunteer support and financial contributions.
"We are actively seeking support," Julien told council, and provided a handout with project details and a QR code for more information. City staff told the speakers they would be in contact to help with CBO grant applications.
The request was made during the public‑comment portion of the meeting and the council noted it for follow up with staff and the city clerk.
