Student council representatives review Oak Creek High’s fall activities, clubs and survey results

Student representatives Paige and Kara told the board about Oak Creek High School’s first-quarter activities, homecoming events, athletics and the results of a back-to-school survey on student experience.
The students described spirit week, tailgate events and the homecoming dance as well as athletics updates including girls swim, boys cross country and boys volleyball. They highlighted inclusive ASL sports and an adaptive program that allowed students with special needs to experience varsity-like events.
On the student survey, presenters said they received about 155 responses and reported that approximately 71% of respondents said they have a teacher or staff member they can turn to. Students raised hallway monitoring, passing time and phone-use concerns and suggested ongoing communication between staff and students to improve transitions and support.
Board members thanked the students and asked follow-up questions about survey response rates and club participation; the presentation was informational.
