OCPO briefs board on Deep Ellum crime data, website launch and outreach gains

Director Andre reported OCPO outreach and performance metrics: the office has participated in 82 community engagement events (goal 25), achieved a complaint-resolution combined goal of 87% (target 70%), and reported an independent-investigation completion rate at 100% for the current reporting period. OCPO announced its redesigned public website launched on July 28 and that an accountability and transparency dashboard is scheduled for presentation at the September City Council public safety committee meeting. Communications advisor Walid Guerrero reported a newsletter open rate of 45.6% (industry standard ~29%) with a 3% click-through.
Board members raised questions about the proposed FY budget changes, options to digitize materials to reduce printing costs, and mechanisms to ensure that OCPO data is accessible to senior residents and recreation centers. Director Andre said she will prioritize district town-hall attendance in districts with high complaint volumes and will work to expand newsletter distribution and outreach channels.
The briefing concluded with staff agreeing to provide requested age and comparative data for Deep Ellum to inform ongoing oversight and community outreach planning.
