At the Nov. 10 meeting, the Evansville Common Council called for nominations and applications to fill vacancies on numerous city boards and commissions. The clerk said the council is accepting applications at evansville.in.gov/boards with a Thanksgiving deadline and noted organizations nominating candidates must email nominations to boards@evansville.in.gov.

The clerk listed vacancies across several bodies, including the Affordable Housing Trust Fund Advisory Committee (four vacancies for four-year terms appointed by the city council), the Commission on Social Status of African American Males, Electrical Examiners Board, Emergency Medical Services Oversight Committee, Evansville Redevelopment Commission, Evansville Urban Enterprise Association Board, Greenway Advisory Board, Loan Administration Board, MBE/WBE Utilization Board, Mesker Park Zoo and Botanical Garden Advisory Board, and Tree Advisory Board. The clerk explained criteria on the vacancy sheet (for example, one Tree Advisory Board seat requires an active registered neighborhood association member) and confirmed attendees may photograph the vacancy sheet and find details online.

Council also set the next common council meeting for Monday, Nov. 17, 2025 at 5:30 p.m.
