Burke Jones, director of operations, said the committee reconvened to rewrite and clarify rules that had been pieced together over time. Under the updated guidance, a district employee who teaches a class that results in a letter grade may use their classroom without paying rental fees through 6:00 p.m. local time; sports camps and other multi‑day camps will be charged rates under the facility use fee schedule. Jones noted a longstanding arrangement for tennis courts — historically contributed to by the city — that continues to limit charges to custodial fees for restrooms and trash rather than court rental fees pending any formal agreement review.
Board members thanked staff and the committee for their work; a motion to approve the revised regulations passed (vote recorded as I 7 0). The district said the revisions were intended to reduce duplication and clarify expectations for community use and employee programs.
