The city attorney read the resolution, which in the agenda packet was described as accepting a $400,173.89 grant from FEMA Hazard Mitigation and approving the standard grant agreement with the State of Florida Division of Emergency Management. The resolution authorizes the city manager (or interim manager) to execute required documents and states a local match of 25% is required; staff cited a local share in the neighborhood of $132,254.50 (the transcript also includes a later reference to $132,234). Finance staff said the federal portion had been quoted at roughly $396,763 in meeting discussion, indicating a small discrepancy in amounts referenced during the presentation that staff will reconcile during contract execution.
Staff said the grant would fund three sewer generators to support storm-related power outages at pump stations; contract execution and receipt of a fully executed state agreement remain as next steps. The commission approved the resolution by a 3–0 vote.
