The Kenosha Public Works Committee on Nov. 10 approved a request to close 50 First Place from 6th Avenue to 7th Avenue on Dec. 5, 2025 so Captain Kelly’s Bar LLC (doing business as Captain Mike’s Beer & Burger Bar) can hold its “Captain Mike’s Park-a-Party.”
Jeanette Kelly, listed on the application, attended the meeting and said, “I’m here, to answer any questions if you have any.” No committee members asked follow-up questions, and the motion to approve the closure was moved, seconded and adopted with all members voting aye.
The closure was placed on the committee agenda as a single-item request. The committee did not record special conditions attached to the approval during the meeting; any permit conditions or notifications required by staff will be handled through the city’s standard event-closure permitting process.
The committee returned to other business after the vote; the item received no public opposition during the meeting and no further scheduling details were discussed.
