The Town Council voted unanimously Tuesday to extend Finn’s Harborside’s temporary outdoor‑dining operating authorization through Nov. 30, 2025, under the expedited provisions of Rhode Island law for businesses affected by casualty.
Connor Finn, representing his family and the business, told the council the restaurant remains open Wednesday through Sunday with hot dogs and rotating food trucks while kitchen exhaust and other repairs proceed after a fire. "We don't plan on closing… full operation by the new year," Finn said, noting the upstairs kitchen will be used while the damaged systems are repaired and inspections completed.
Town staff confirmed the Department of Health has approved outside service but not yet approved both kitchen facilities; the council determined it could extend the temporary license under state law and voted to do so. The motion to extend the current operating license under the June expedited law carried 5–0.
The extension gives Finn’s additional time to complete inspections and secure final approvals from the Department of Health and building/fire officials.
The council emphasized the town will follow state health requirements before full inside service resumes.
