Simi Valley library reports major outreach growth; council receives annual report

Library Director Stephanie Ronka presented the Simi Valley Public Library’s fiscal year 2024–25 annual report, which the council received and filed unanimously.
Ronka highlighted 2,905 service hours, 172,806 visitors, 390,342 circulations, and the launch of a mobile library van in February that completed 66 stops and checked out 564 books in its first year. The library reported expanded programming, increased social‑media engagement and partnerships with local organizations, and described a successful expansion of adult literacy tutoring (27 tutor‑learner matches) and outreach events.
Councilmembers praised the report, noted the library’s role as a community hub during public‑safety power shutoffs (Tesla generator charging and Wi‑Fi access), and asked for small presentation edits. The motion to receive and file the report passed unanimously.
