The Ellsworth City Council unanimously ratified Rodney (Roddy) Erlenbeck as the city’s parks and recreation director on Aug. 18, 2025.
City Manager Charlie said Erlenbeck brings recreation-management experience, grant work and knowledge of regional facilities. The position was pre-funded in the FY 2025 budget. During the meeting, Erlenbeck described returning to the area, priorities for increasing access to recreation spaces and plans for community engagement and fundraising.
Councilors welcomed Erlenbeck and thanked him for taking on the role; the motion to ratify the appointment passed without objection.
