Council directs staff to solicit quote for LSRP for brownfield site under EDAC review

At the Sept. 24 meeting the Economic Development Advisory Commission reported ongoing work on a nominated brownfield property (identified in discussion as the Mays Landing Route 9 gas-station site) and requested that the city procure professional guidance to interpret existing Department of Environmental Protection reports and determine grant and redevelopment options.
EDAC asked the council to authorize spending up to an estimated $4,000 to hire a Licensed Site Remediation Professional (LSRP) to analyze the available environmental documentation and advise whether the property would be a suitable municipal investment or qualify for remediation grants. EDAC said the property owner already has reporting but the municipality needs professional interpretation to determine next steps.
Administrator Jason Frost and Solicitor Smith advised the procurement pathway depends on the scope of services and procurement thresholds; council directed Administrator Frost to prepare a request for quotation or price proposal and return with a cost estimate and recommended procurement method for council consideration at the next meeting.
