Development staff opened a public hearing Nov. 3 on a proposed amendment to the Violet Township/City joint economic development (JED) agreement to include an additional parcel owned by CW Industrial LLC.
"This public hearing is to amend the JED contract that we currently have with Violet Township," Development Director Lucas Hair said, describing the parcel as approximately 12 acres (Parcel 3702111720) proposed for industrial development. Hair said the proposal calls for four 24,000‑square‑foot buildings and two 9,800‑square‑foot buildings and that the owners would be subject to the JED's 2% income‑tax allocation for development.
No members of the public testified during the hearing. After staff answered procedural questions from council, the chair adjourned the public hearing and returned the matter to be handled in the council process, including any required ordinance or resolution votes at future meetings.
Next steps: the amendment will proceed through the city's legislative process for formal action; staff said they are available to answer council questions as the submission moves toward a final vote.
