Charlotte County School Board elects John Leclair chair, Wendy Atkinson vice chair

The School Board of Charlotte County elected John Leclair as board chair and Wendy Atkinson as vice chair during its Nov. 11, 2025, organizational meeting.
Kara Reynolds nominated John Leclair for chair; Leclair accepted and the board closed nominations before taking a voice vote that carried unanimously. Bob Seager nominated Wendy Atkinson for vice chair; Atkinson accepted and the board elected her by unanimous voice vote.
The board recessed the organizational meeting to convene the Charlotte School Board Leasing Corporation for its annual reorganization. At that meeting the board approved Leclair as chair/president and Atkinson as vice chair/vice president of the leasing corporation without objection.
The board also approved its 2025–26 committee assignments, which had been reviewed at a Nov. 11 workshop. The motion to adopt the assignments passed by unanimous voice vote.
The organizational meeting then adjourned and the regular Nov. 11 board meeting began.
