Russell County court approves small grants, accepts COPS award and handles routine business

A representative of the Russell County Soil Conservation District reported program statistics (493 animal removals year-to-date and reimbursements totaling $31,465) and requested $5,000 in matching funds. The court approved the $5,000 match, consistent with previous county contributions and intended to support the district’s state matching applications.
Other administrative items included consideration of towing-service applications, a report of alcohol-sales receipts for September ($11,677.18 received in October) and a brief recognition of local artwork. A motion to adjourn was approved by voice vote.
