The board reviewed Agenda Item 6.05, a renewal agreement with Dr. George L. Hamm to provide dental exams for K–12 students for the 2025–2027 period.
Board members confirmed the contract is a renewal and that fees are unchanged. The agreement provides a base $10 per exam, allows the provider to charge up to $30 per hour for dental and clerical assistants and an additional $5 per exam if district sterilization equipment is used; the district said it generally uses disposable instruments to keep costs down. Board discussion noted last year’s outlay was about $1,000 and that only a portion of students use the service despite the district’s obligation to offer exams for required grades.
Administrators said if the board voted no they would need to find another provider because the district is required to offer dental exams in the specified grades. No vote was recorded on Nov. 11.
