Lebanon board approves event parking, project bids and a short road closure

At its Nov. 10 Board Works meeting, the Lebanon City board unanimously approved a series of routine permissions and solicitations affecting downtown events, parks renovations and near-term road work.
Parking and events: The board approved a request from Missy to reserve four parallel parking spaces at 101 West Main on Dec. 2 from roughly 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a Versity bloodmobile. Missy also described a pair of seasonal trolley events — a 'Not So Jolly Trolley' on Nov. 16 and a 'Jolly Trolley' with Santa on Dec. 17 — with tickets available through the Heart of Lebanon website.
Demolition quote authorization: The board authorized staff to solicit quotes to demolish structures at 1301 Lafayette Ave (the former street garage). Engineering staff said the work would remove structures and foundations but leave pavement on-site because of environmental regulations and contaminated soil management until a BOT contracting team is in place.
Bid solicitations: The board approved issuance of bid documents for Abner Longley Park storage-building renovations (an 8,800-square-foot building requiring reroofing, reskinning, door reconfiguration, updated electrical and heating, and fencing) and for permanent intersection improvements at Elizaville Road and Elm Swamp Road (converting temporary plastic delineators into curb and grass areas). Staff said Elizaville/Elm Swamp bids are expected Nov. 24.
Road closure: The board approved a temporary weekend closure from Nov. 22–24 for County Road 300 North east of U.S. 52 to allow Eli Lilly contractors to extend a three-lane section and place asphalt; staff said the intent was a weekend schedule with reopening expected Sunday night.
Claims and adjournment: The board approved claims and adjourned; the next Board Works meeting is set for Nov. 24 at 6:15 p.m.
Vote details: All the recorded motions in the meeting were accepted by voice vote; the minutes and each listed authorization were approved with an 'aye' recorded for all present.
