Jennifer McDowell, a Waynesboro resident, told council Nov. 10 she has noticed increased bus ridership and offered practical suggestions to improve the passenger experience.

McDowell suggested adding more benches at bus stops so riders are not exposed to harsh weather and recommended a light or flag system passengers could activate to signal drivers to stop. "So if some of the bus stops would have, like, a light to where they're not trying the bus drivers are not trying to search everywhere," she said, describing times when passengers waiting out of sight are missed by drivers.

She asked the council to consider the changes to reduce missed pickups and make the system more accessible, particularly for riders seeking shelter from the elements. No staff response or action was recorded at the Nov. 10 meeting.
