The Torrington City Council voted Nov. 10 to establish a building committee to review the feasibility study for a proposed public‑safety complex and to act as fiduciaries for a planning grant the city intends to submit through the CIF.

Councilman Oliver, who introduced the motion, said the goal is to put the project "in front of the public as many times as we can for discussion purposes and for any potential future actions." He said the council should form the committee now but leave formal appointments to Mayor‑elect Spino when she takes office in December.

Council members recommended committee representation from the Board of Safety, the city council, fire and police chiefs, and suggested including a public member. The motion carried without recorded opposition.
