City begins Elevate review to align climate plans, track action progress and set priorities

The Sustainability Advisory Committee heard that the city will work with Elevate (25 Cities initiative) to compare the 2021 Climate Action Plan and climate adaptation plan against core city plans, track completion status of plan actions (target report by Earth Day) and prioritize unfinished actions for funding and feasibility.
Kendra, acting program director, told the committee the city has partnered with Elevate through the 25 Cities initiative to run a plan-alignment exercise. The work will compare the city’s climate action and resilience plans with foundational documents such as Nashville Next, the multi-hazard mitigation plan, a zero-waste master plan, the parks and recreation plan and the unified housing strategy.
