Adams County briefs: Bridge pours, paving windows and project savings reported

County public-works staff reported progress and scheduling on a series of roadway and bridge projects. Bridge 44 (near 200 West south of 224) received a concrete overlay; crews expect to complete asphalt work in November once the concrete reaches strength and weather permits. Public works warned that post-November asphalt placements are weather-dependent and may be a gamble if temperatures fall.
Staff also described a trespass incident on Bridge 155 in which a vehicle reportedly drove across fresh forms; officials said there was no permanent damage. Milestone Construction will perform concrete patching on Bridal 73 starting the week of Nov. 10 with an anticipated 7–10 day closure. Bridal 180 (crossing 825 South and 650 West) closed-out under budget by more than 10% after contractors reused existing aggregate and adjusted leveling pads, with savings returning to the county’s Community Crossings match fund.
Commissioners asked about traffic impacts and school-route disruptions; staff said closures would be short and were coordinating notices. The county received routine MVH and local road draws for October ($319,718.35 and $52,223.77, respectively), and commissioners approved acceptance of those draws.
