For specialized programs such as CAST, projections can show negative available seats at specific program sites even if the buildingwide average remains under the 90% threshold.
Board members asked staff to return with clearer explanations of the chart’s calculations, the source of the 525 projected seats noted for a campus, and how 'choicing out' (students leaving by choice) affects the numbers. Staff agreed to review the student-services calculations and return to the board in November with clarifications.
