New Steakhouse quietly opened; board highlights community events and volunteer projects

Trustee Vanwright announced Pepper Road Fest for Saturday, Sept. 20, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with more than 30 vendors, live music, kids' activities and free admission. Trustees also described a barn dance fundraiser at Good Shepherd hospital grounds the evening of Sept. 20 (6–11 p.m.) and other family-oriented activities being coordinated with student volunteers and local sponsors.
No formal actions were required for these recognitions and event announcements. Trustees encouraged residents to attend and volunteer where appropriate.
