The Riverside County Youth Advisory Council completed elections for its 2025–26 officers, selecting Hannah Bondo as chair after a revote, Andrea Davila as vice chair and Carla Mendoza as secretary.
The vote followed an open nominations process that produced three candidates for chair: Carla Mendoza, who stressed collaboration and connecting youth to county leaders; Hannah Bondo, who highlighted the need for ‘‘stronger mental health resources and deeper community inclusion’’; and Sasha Nadimi, the District 3 commissioner, who described mental health and environmental concerns as urgent priorities. After an initial tie between Bondo and Mendoza, the council conducted a revote and announced, “Your chair for the 2025–2026 Youth Advisory Council year is Hannah,” which Bondo accepted.
Vice chair and secretary races followed. Andrea Davila, a Beaumont High School student, was elected vice chair after accepting a nomination and delivering remarks about supporting student needs and policy engagement. Carla Mendoza was elected secretary; she emphasized that ‘‘real leadership isn’t about titles. It’s about bringing people together, listening, and turning ideas into actions.’’
The officer slate sets the council’s leadership for the year as members lay out goals including mental-health programming, community inclusion, and outreach events across the county. The council did not record formal roll-call vote tallies in the transcript for the officer elections; outcomes were announced by council staff during the meeting.
Next steps: the newly elected officers will lead district-level goal implementation and represent the Youth Advisory Council when reporting to the Riverside County Board of Supervisors.
