Akron City Council on Monday voted 9–0 to approve a conditional use permitting a dual‑use marijuana dispensary at 2010 East Waterloo Road.
City planner Mike Antonucci described the petitioner (OTC Ohio) as intending to renovate a 3,605‑square‑foot former drive‑through into a dispensary with reception, sales, storage and a vault. Antonucci said the site would provide 61 paid parking spaces, operate 9 a.m.–9 p.m. daily, and anticipate about 30 employees; planning staff and the planning commission recommended approval subject to conditions.
Darcy Fankhauser, identifying herself as one of the owners of Supergood, testified in support and said this would be the company’s second Ohio location.
With no other public commenters, council pulled the committee for a favorable report and adopted the ordinance by roll call, 9 to 0.
The transcript does not record an ordinance number or the full text of any council conditions; staff and planning commission recommendations were referenced during the hearing.
