Board approves 2025–26 professional-development plan, curriculum submissions and special-education plan

A district curriculum official presented and the board approved several instructional items Aug. 25, including CSC/CPSC submissions, the district professional-development plan for 2025–26 and the district special-education plan for 2025–27.
The curriculum official said the professional-development plan was updated to align with the district strategic plan, reading and computer-science standards, and new developments in artificial intelligence. “Our tech mentors will continue to be instrumental in guiding our faculty with next steps regarding AI best practices, ethics, and balancing technology with authentic and meaningful human interaction,” the official said.
The board also adopted the district special-education plan, noting updates to reflect staffing changes and compliance with new regulations on compulsory and age-out attendance for students with individualized education plans. The presenter said a visual chart depicting the district’s continuum of services was updated for aesthetic reasons and that the substantive content of services remains unchanged.
Board members moved and approved the recommended items by voice vote with no recorded opposition.
