R. Michael Rhodes Foundation presents $7,500 to Harvey County for Camp Hawk disc golf upgrades

During public comment at the Harvey County Board of Commissioners meeting on Oct. 21, Joe Raab identified himself as a local attorney and trustee of the R. Michael Rhodes Foundation and described the foundation’s long-term support for local parks and recreation.
Raab said the foundation’s early endowment of roughly $1 million has grown to about $4 million and over time the foundation has granted more than $1 million locally. He thanked Parks Director Cass Miller for a two-page project summary that helped the foundation understand Camp Hawk’s disc golf rehabilitation needs. "So it is our pleasure to present to you a check for the other $7,500, to help with the disc golf park," Raab said, noting the county had budgeted $7,500 and the foundation’s gift would help meet an approximate $15,000 rehabilitation target for improvements such as concrete tee boxes and replaced baskets.
Commissioners accepted the gift on the record and thanked Raab and the foundation for the donation and volunteer support for Camp Hawk and other county parks.
