During consideration of warrants dated Oct. 21, staff explained the county must return $10,000 to the state because expenditures for West Park erosion repairs were lower than the amount used to calculate the FEMA award. County staff said the returned amount reflected the percentage of eligible expenditures, not a program error. Commissioner (speaker 5) moved to approve warrant checks totaling $158,007,773.63; the motion carried on a voice vote.
Later the commission considered a request from Road & Bridge to replace a 2016 Ford F‑550 sign truck. Road & Bridge staff described extensive engine and transmission wear and told commissioners the truck had been scheduled for replacement in 2026 but that a matching 2025 vehicle was available now. Speaker 2 moved to waive the purchasing policy and accept the Rusty Eck Ford quote of $56,775 for the 2025 Ford F‑550 Super Duty; Speaker 5 seconded and the commission voted to approve the purchase.
Other routine business included approval of the Oct. 14 minutes. All formal motions recorded during the meeting passed on voice votes.
