Mason County commissioners approve sale of two Public Works Drive lots in Shelton

The Mason County Board of Commissioners approved the sale of two county-owned lots on Public Works Drive in Shelton during a special meeting on Nov. 4.

County staff opened the public hearing by identifying the parcels — 42002-13-90030 and 42002-13-90040 — and the proposed buyer as David C. Bailey and/or assigns, with offers of $450,000 for Lot 3 and $515,000 for Lot 4. "This is a public hearing to consider the sale of Lots 3 And 4 Public Works Drive," a county staff member said during the presentation.

The chair closed public testimony after noting there were no in-person or online commenters. A commissioner moved to approve the sales and to authorize Commissioner Randy Netherland to sign the resolution approving the transactions; another commissioner seconded the motion. One commissioner told the board that the properties "have gone through all the processes that it's supposed to" and that the parcels "have been on the market for many, many, many months, actually several years," characterizing the offers as "an arms length transaction." The chair called for a voice vote; commissioners answered "aye," and the chair announced the motion passed. No opposing votes were recorded in the transcript.
