The Navasota City Council voted Oct. 27 to authorize the city manager to initiate a compensation study by Logic Compensation Group for $25,000.
City Manager Adam said the funding for the study was included in the adopted budget and that staff received two quotes; the recommended firm, Logic Compensation Group, submitted the lower bid at $25,000. Adam said the consultant will use comparator cities, gather position data and return to council with recommendations — the council makes any pay-plan changes, not the consultant.
"The idea is that probably in February or March, we would come back with the formal full report to you all, so that we could hopefully make any adjustments that we do to the pay plan," Adam said. Staff clarified consultants will not unilaterally change pay structure; the firm only offers recommendations for council consideration.
Council approved authorization by voice vote.
