Kittitas County schedules public hearing to adopt 2025'2030 local homeless housing plan

Kittitas County Public Health Director Chelsea Leffers told the Board of County Commissioners the county must adopt a Local Homeless Housing Plan covering 2025 through 2030 and asked the board to set a public hearing.
Leffers said the plan was recommended by the Kittitas County Homelessness and Affordable Housing Committee at its Oct. 16 meeting and requested the board set a hearing for 2 p.m. on Dec. 16, 2025 to consider adoption. "The public hearing will be set for 2PM on 12/16/2025, and this plan has been recommended by the Kittitas County homelessness and affordable housing committee," Leffers said (Chelsea Leffers, Public Health director, speaker 6).
Board members acknowledged the deadline and approved scheduling the hearing on the record. No substantive policy debate on the plan text was recorded at the agenda session; Leffers noted timing was "right up to the deadline." The hearing will allow public testimony and a formal adoption vote by the commissioners.
