Putnam County Commission approves routine orders, two vendor contracts and public-safety purchases

The Putnam County Commission met in regular session and approved a series of routine administrative actions, vendor payments and two vendor contracts.
County staff (Speaker 4) presented a budget revision for “department 7 14” that reduced contributions to other government units by $6,030.75 and reallocated funds to part-time wages (+$5,500), flight expenses (+$3,341), Medicare (+$79.75) and workers’ compensation (+$110). Speaker 3 moved to accept the revision and the motion carried on a voice vote.
The commission approved payroll and personnel orders, including issuance of increment paychecks for employees omitted from an earlier list. From the 9-1-1 fund, the commission approved a $9,320 payment to Electronic Services Incorporated for radio-system work. From the building fund the commission approved three payments: $918.75 to Selling Associates for courthouse courtroom renovation construction administration; $3,492 to Ceiling Associates for generator-replacement construction administration; and $350 to Ceiling Associates for bidding and construction documents for the judicial building security desk.
Using opioid-settlement funds, the commission approved a $19,370 payment to Axon Enterprise for an Axon Justice Premier Plus subscription for the prosecutor’s office and a $24,000 payment to Flock Group Incorporated for a long-range license-plate reader for the Putnam County Sheriff’s department. County staff presented both requests and the motions to approve were carried by voice vote.
County staff also said they had emailed all three commissioners on Friday, Oct. 24, requesting permission to sign a revised contract with Alpha Technologies to provide the county’s information-technology services. Speaker 3 moved to approve the Alpha Technologies contract as presented, and the commission approved it by voice vote. The commission likewise approved a contract with GAI Consultants for technical services and bidding management on the Valley Park parking-lot improvement project, which staff said is intended to alleviate parking issues at Valley Park.
Most votes in the session were voice votes with no recorded opposition. The commission’s presiding official announced that the county will hold a single meeting in November on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 5 p.m. The session adjourned following a motion by Speaker 3.
