Director Ryder presented the district's enrollment history and explained how monthly head-count reports differ from the state-driven "average daily membership" figures used for audit and funding. He told the board that kindergarten enrollment stood at 515 as of Aug. 1 and, using a typical 97% factor, the district projects about 531 kindergarten students for 2025–26.
Ryder said the state edit process reconciles student IDs and attendance to produce the average daily membership that underpins revenue calculations and that the district will validate the numbers before the audit. He also reviewed the 2026–27 budget planning calendar, noting key steps such as levy certification and an audit presentation scheduled for Oct. 13.
The board voted 6–0 to approve the budget calendar for the 2026–27 planning cycle. Separately, the board set the district's Truth in Taxation hearing for Dec. 8, 2025, to be held at the start of the board meeting, also on a unanimous 6–0 vote.
Director Ryder cautioned that mid-year shifts in enrollment can occur and that the district will continue to refine counts through September and before October audit deadlines.
