Washington City Council took several routine actions during its Nov. 12 meetings.
At the workshop opening the council approved the workshop agenda by voice vote after a motion from Councilman Henderson and a second from Councilman Ivy. Later, during the regular meeting the council approved the consent agenda (minutes and board audit report) and a resolution honoring Charles "Charlie" Kirk (Resolution R-2025-30) by unanimous vote.
The council accepted an annexation petition for roughly 4,294 acres of BLM land to begin the statutory notice and affected-entity process. The acceptance starts the public-notification and review timeline; council noted the process may return in January for ratification.
The council held a public hearing and approved a road-abandonment/vacation at 840 South and 100 East to allow a private storage unit project to proceed. No members of the public spoke on that item and the motion passed 5–0.
Finally, the council approved conditional use permit CD-25-12 to update the facade of a retail building at 720 West Telegraph Street; staff had recommended approval and the council approved the permit by roll call 5–0.
Several other items (public hearings on eminent domain for water‑tank parcels and the DEQ landfill update) were presentations or hearings and did not result in council votes at this meeting.
