Euless fire-safety clown troupe receives Phoenix Shield; students honored in poster contest

The presenter recounted the case of a child, identified as Mitch Amandi, who experienced a kitchen fire at home and responded calmly using skills learned from the troupe’s programming; the presenter described that preparedness as life-saving and deserving of recognition.
Council members also celebrated the winners of the 2025 fire-safety poster contest, with announced student winners from Lakewood Elementary (first grade), Oakwood Terrace Elementary (second and fourth grades), Wilshire Elementary (third and sixth grades), and South Euless Elementary (fifth grade). The presenter thanked teachers, families and council support for prevention education that strengthens the community.
The council applauded the department and the students before moving on to the consent agenda.
