Items listed by staff included (selected highlights): a construction contract with Capco Concrete Structures not to exceed $342,242 for Canyon View Court and Hidden Canyon Loop drainage improvements; use of an interlocal cooperative contract for capital projects authorizing purchases of construction services in the amount of $540,000; park system furniture, fixtures and equipment purchases up to $295,000; purchases of battery tools and maintenance for the fire department for $155,713; radio equipment and subscription services from Motorola Solutions (examples $30,457 and $74,034 respectively); and marketing and media relations services from Case Strategies not to exceed $92,000. Staff also presented a resolution authorizing submission of a grant application to the Office of the Texas Governor to assist the Cedar Hill Police Department with ballistic door panels.
A council member moved approval and a second was given; the motion passed unanimously.
Council did not remove any items for separate discussion and staff clarified that the mayor could vote on minutes despite being absent for a prior meeting. The council voiced appreciation for staff work on the listed projects.
