"Greg's 51 years of service to Marblehead Public Schools, his unwavering commitment to performing arts, and his profound dedication to mentorship has left an indelible legacy," Reed said.
Committee members praised the recommendation but said they wanted to gather broader community feedback before taking action. One member noted the district's naming policy ("Naming of New Facilities and Spaces") appears to cover this request and recommended the committee solicit community input and then revisit the item at the next meeting or the following one.
Members also discussed whether the district should clarify naming procedures and criteria generally so decisions do not hinge on ad hoc conversations prompted by a single request. The committee did not take a final vote on the naming request at the meeting; members asked staff to place the request on a future agenda after community outreach.
