Pike County court acknowledges personnel changes, reappointments and approves mapping resolution; District 3 commissioner schedules community meeting

County attorney Roy advised the court on the open meetings law. Under KRS 61.81, Roy said the court may enter executive session under paragraph (c) to discuss proposed or pending litigation and under paragraph (f) for personnel matters. The court voted to enter executive session, recessed and later returned to acknowledge personnel actions: the termination of Margaret Tackett (part-time custodian effective 11/04/2025), the resignation of Billy Adams (seasonal labor, effective 09/30/2025), and the reclassification of Valor Wolf from seasonal carpenter to carpenter at the same pay rate effective 11/04/2025; the court approved the acknowledgements by roll call.
A District 3 commissioner announced a community meeting at 5:00 p.m. at the Belfry Fire Department to coordinate churches, volunteer firefighters, school and law-enforcement resources to help children and elderly residents in need. "It's about helping the people that's in need in our district," the commissioner said, inviting community participation and emphasizing the effort is not political.
