Lompoc council approves consent calendar including payroll, contracts and ordinance adoptions

At the start of its Nov. 4 meeting the Lompoc City Council approved the consent calendar (vote recorded 5-0) after pulling two items for separate discussion later in the agenda.

Items read into the record included approval of minutes for several meetings (08/05/2025, 08/19/2025, 09/02/2025 and 09/16/2025), ratification of expenditures and payroll (payroll described as about $2,000,000 and voucher registers described in the record as approximately $1,280,000 and $6,454,000), adoption or amendment of multiple zoning and parking-related ordinances (including items referenced as ordinance nos. 1731/1732 and 17-36/17-37/17-38 formats in the clerk's reading), approval of lease assignments at the Lompoc Airport, a job-class resolution for water regulatory compliance staff, an invitation to bid (item with cost referenced as about $548,100), a workers' compensation administration agreement, and pre-authorization of a change order for park restroom work.

Two items were pulled for discussion later (Johnson/Bridal Park restroom change order and the purchase order for seven electric trucks). The remainder of the consent items were approved on the motion and second recorded by council, and the clerk recorded a 5-0 passage for the consent items that remained on the list.

What happens next: Pulled items were considered later in the agenda; approved consent items will be implemented as listed in staff reports and purchase orders.
