Board swears in two new Veterans Services commissioners

Bazelko and Houston each gave brief autobiographical remarks about military service and local ties.
Both appointees were sworn under Iowa Code 35B before the board and welcomed by supervisors. Becker said one ex-officio position will remain open until the next appointment cycle to ensure continuity and to provide a replacement bench if needed.
What’s next: The commission will integrate the new members into outreach and outreach programs; Becker said she will bring any process documentation to the board for future cycles.
