Bartlett accepts $50,000 state grant for parks; officials outline community events

The Bartlett Board of Mayor and Aldermen unanimously accepted a $50,000 grant from the Tennessee Department of Disability and Aging to support parks programming and upgrades.
Finance staff said the Parks Department plans to use the funds to enhance the community garden and provide IT infrastructure upgrades to the senior center. The resolution amended the FY2026 general fund budget to recognize the grant and authorizes expenditure of the funds.
Recreation Director Paul Wright thanked the board for approving Chatelon Park project items and recognized staff who led the grant work. Wright highlighted upcoming community events — Nov. 7 and Nov. 14 fire-pit evenings and a Nov. 15 turkey-shoot fundraiser at Singleton Community Center — and said the department is working with sponsors to keep events free to the public.
What’s next: The Parks Department will implement the grant-funded improvements; staff will return with project phases and timelines as work progresses.
