District outlines technology fixes after BCI audit; hotline and Mimecast rollout planned

Twin Valley School District officials told the board they are acting on findings from a July BCI technology audit and will present a prioritized multi‑year action plan at the September committee meeting.
"We received the BCI audit recommendations...he's forming an action plan, and we would like to request that we share that at the September, committee night meeting," a district official said. Administration reported reorganization within the technology department to provide daily building‑level support at both secondary schools and additional on‑site coverage at elementary buildings.
Technology staff will strengthen a staffed tech hotline and roll it out next week so teachers and staff can get immediate assistance; the district said hotline staff will be a mix of help‑desk and building support and that a ticketing system remains available for less urgent requests.
On cybersecurity and records management, the district plans to implement Mimecast this fall to centralize email archiving and streamline storage. Administrators said they will present critical recommendations separated into year‑one priorities and items to follow in years two and three.
The administration invited the board to a deeper September presentation that will include benchmarks and metrics so the district can track improvements tied to the audit recommendations.
