Ridgewood Water staff presented a package of capital awards and program updates at the Aug. 6 council workshop, describing work to replace lead service lines, install PFAS treatment at multiple facilities, and upgrade lab testing capacity.
Highlights included a recommended low-bid award for lead-service-line replacements to Rayvax Contracting Corp. for $3,253,650 (contract 1), a raw-wet-main contract award recommendation to MSP Construction (~$5.93 million) to install more than 16,000 linear feet of raw-water main to connect wells to the treatment plant, and a low-bid recommendation for one PFAS-treatment facility contract to Coppola Services for $3,554,013. Staff said most PFAS facilities are now under contract with one remaining site to bid.
Water staff also requested an in-house purchase of Agilent lab equipment for arsenic and trace-metal testing under a state contract for $147,870, and described change orders and permitting design work (e.g., a $200,000 change order to Arcadis for additional design/permitting for three PFAS facilities). Council members asked staff to put a PFAS program update on a September work session agenda to summarize status across all facilities and schedules.
What's next: council will consider the formal contract awards and change orders per procurement procedures. Staff will schedule a comprehensive PFAS rollout update in September to brief the public and governing body on implementation timelines and remaining procurements.
