Vice Chair Jackie Jones elected chair of Measure P Oversight Committee; McDonald named vice chair

Later in the meeting, after a brief attempt to nominate another member as vice chair that was declined, commissioners moved to elect Commissioner McDonald as vice chair. McDonald told the committee she was “honored and I would accept that.” The motion to elect McDonald passed on a roll-call vote with all present voting yes and Chair Tibet absent.
Commissioners also noted that a colleague reported Chair Tibet’s intent to resign and that today was his last day; the committee said an email from Tibet was expected. The committee did not set a separate timeline for filling any additional vacancies beyond these elections.
The elected officers will serve in their roles for committee business; no additional formal actions about Tibet’s resignation were recorded in the meeting minutes provided.
