Summary
Wright County Engineer Adam Fleming told supervisors Twin Rivers Exploration has performed about 0.58 miles of vibratory seismic testing and will deliver a PPV report; supervisors requested GPS node locations to verify proximity to structures and drainage features.
Adam Fleming, Wright County engineer, updated the Board of Supervisors on Twin Rivers Exploration’s seismic work and on several secondary-roads projects.
"They've done about 0.58 miles of vibratory testing," Fleming told the board and said Twin Rivers will provide a PPV (peak particle velocity) report for review. Fleming offered to supply GPS coordinates of the test nodes so supervisors and staff can confirm whether any county structures could have exceeded the 0.5 PPV threshold cited for structural concern.
Fleming also reported routine operations: priority-3 blading, movement of one blade operator into an open truck-driver position, progress on graveling and top-dressing, and an asphalt patching issue on R33 that may require a change order and subbase replacement. Fleming said the contractor for a Belmont project is renting a diesel hammer replacement and a new wave-equation analysis is required because the hammer weights differ.
Supervisors asked staff to obtain the GPS locations from Twin Rivers and to circulate the PPV report so the board can confirm impacts to drainage districts and county structures. Fleming said he would request the files and distribute them to supervisors and drainage trustees.
