The Lynn Haven Community Redevelopment Agency approved the purchase and installation of playground equipment for Cane Griffin Park at a cost of $194,396.45, with staff saying the work will bring the playground into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
CRA staff presented the Sourcewell-based quote and said the equipment and site work will replace noncompliant fixtures and add accessible surfacing. "Installing the new equipment will bring the playground into compliance with the ADA standards," CRA Director Ben said during his presentation. Commissioner Wark, who moved the motion, said the park is heavily used by families and events; Chairman Peebles and other commissioners supported the expenditure. The motion to approve was seconded and carried on a roll-call vote by the members present.
The board recorded the motion, approved the purchase, and directed staff to proceed with procurement and scheduling. No public opposition to this item was recorded during the meeting.
