The Lakewood Board of Education received a finance update Nov. 3 that showed positive investment performance for September and year-to-date and then voted unanimously to approve several personnel actions and a student travel request.
Treasurer Clark Sutton reported investment earnings for regular board funds of $320,272 for September and year-to-date investment earnings of $7,752,335 (July 1–date). For the month of September 2025, general fund receipts totaled $4,964,121 and general fund expenditures totaled $6,824,066. The five-year forecast for fiscal year 2026 was discussed and the treasurer said cash reserves are sufficient through fiscal year 2026; appropriation modifications will be made to ensure compliance with the state auditor’s office and the county fiscal office.
On other business the board approved a certified resignation for retirement (one-reading approval), a classified employee resignation (one-reading approval), and a travel request for the Lakewood High School boys’ varsity basketball team to travel to the University of Toledo for scrimmage and a campus tour Nov. 7–9, 2025. Each item was moved and seconded and the clerk called the roll; the board recorded unanimous "Aye" votes on all motions as shown in the meeting record.
