Board approves routine items; highlights AP gains and announces donations

The board also approved personnel schedule items and multiple business items; on two business items one trustee recorded an abstention citing a relationship with Northwell Health.
Trustees and administrators noted stronger AP participation and performance: board remarks and the superintendent's report referenced increases in students taking AP exams (450 students in 2025 versus 347 in 2021 and 403 in 2024) and a substantial rise in the number of exams administered. The superintendent said the senior class received $26,458,176.52 in scholarships this year.
Donations announced at the meeting included assorted sensory toys from an anonymous donor (approximate value $1,250), 350 backpacks with supplies from Northwell Health (approximate value $9,450) and a small donation from the Washington Primary PTA to offset field-trip costs.
