Jim (county staff) said the hearing will be held at 5:30 p.m. on November 13 in the courthouse courtroom (3rd floor) and that the county will publish notice in the newspaper at least seven days before the hearing and notify petitioning landowners directly.
Jim emphasized the hearing will provide an official opportunity to speak "both for and against" the annexation and said the public hearing itself will not be a decision night; he anticipated a commission decision around Nov. 18 or, if necessary, a special meeting near Nov. 19. "This is strictly to discuss the annexation proposal from the City of Mulberry," Jim said, and he clarified that the item is separate from the ongoing comprehensive-plan review that will address wind and solar policy language.
Staff said they will post hearing notices on social media and in the paper and will continue to announce the hearing at future commission meetings. No formal vote on annexation occurred at this meeting.
