The Bryan Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously adopted the district improvement plan for 2025–26 on Sept. 8 after a presentation by district leaders.
District staff described the plan as an annual, board‑approved document that aligns the board’s priorities with federal and state funding requirements and campus improvement efforts. Two new grant‑funded initiatives were singled out: Texas Instructional Leadership (TIL), which places a Region 6 instructional coach at intermediate and middle schools to strengthen observation and feedback, and Texas Strategic Leadership (TSL), a longer‑term program to align district systems and develop an academic strategic plan.
"We're providing artifacts, quantitative data, and walk‑through observations — we've walked almost 200 classrooms already — to inform a landscape analysis that will drive the academic strategic plan," a district presenter said. Trustees emphasized the plan is intended to be living and that administrative adjustments can be made through the year.
Board action: Trustee Hardin Wilson moved to approve the District Improvement Plan and authorized administration to make necessary adjustments during the year; the motion passed by unanimous voice vote.
Next steps: Staff will continue classroom walks, stakeholder engagement and landscape analysis and will present draft statements and monitoring templates to the board as the work progresses.
